Instagram’s rival to X, formerly known as Twitter, is Threads. It’s not quite the same as what Twitter used to be, but it has one thing in common with its biggest rival: You see a lot of nice photos and videos on Threads too. If you use Threads on Android, there’s an easy way to download photos and videos from the app on to your phone. (We’ve also covered how to download pictures and videos from Threads on your iPhone here.)
How to download photos and videos from Threads on your Android phone
First, you can download Threads on Android and sign in to your account. Alternatively, you may use any web browser to log in to Threads. Once you’ve done that, install the Threads Downloader by Spaple, which is a free app that allows you to download media from Threads.
Now, open Threads and look for any post that has photos or videos. When you spot one, press and hold the paper airplane icon below the post and tap Copy Link. Now open Threads Downloader and tap the orange down arrow icon. The app will automatically download all the photos and videos in the linked post.
The downloaded media is automatically saved to your photo gallery as well. You can view all downloaded photos and videos in Threads Downloader, if you want, and send them to other apps by tapping the share icon.
Threads Downloader is free to use and it has some ads. For most people, the free version of the app is good enough because the ads aren’t very intrusive. If you really want to get rid of them, you can pay around $3 to remove ads and you get some additional features, such as background downloads, the ability to choose where to save media, and avoiding duplicate downloads.
